Clinical supervision of students in acute and community-based settings is required, as well as coordination, planning, and evaluation of clinical faculty and affiliating agencies. Curriculum planning and evaluation are part of faculty functions. Flexibility and experience in more than one specialty, or knowledge and expertise in additional nursing areas is desired. Qualifications / Experience: Earned Doctorate in Nursing or related field, Master’s Degree in Nursing, licensed to practice (or eligible for licensure) as an RN in California. Evidence of excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Demonstrated ability in curriculum planning and evaluation. Demonstrated record of scholarly activities such as research publication, presentation, directing grants/projects. Record of practice in the applicant’s particular field of nursing practice. Evidence of interest in, and an ability to work successfully within, a multiethnic, multicultural setting. Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications. Position Starting Date: August 2006. Mission Statement: The mission of the School of Nursing is to: (1) provide baccalaureate and graduate education in nursing for a diverse student body; (2) prepare graduates to provide quality nursing care, leadership and to act as advocates to meet the health care needs of culturally diverse people in urban environments; and (3) to improve health care and nursing services through service to the community.
