BLS (CPR) and ACLS Classes at the School of Nursing
The School of Nursing offers comprehensive adult, child and infant CPR courses in a “student friendly” environment. Pre-registration is required and payment (cash, check, credit card, money order) is due on the day of class. Certification is from the American Heart Association and is good for 2 years.
This
American Heart
Association
course is open to the public and covers Basic Life Support principles of infant, child and adult CPR, Rescue Breathing and Choking, and the use of a BVM (bag valve mask) and AED (automated external defibrillators).

American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life support classes are also available on the following dates at the School of Nursing. The course provides the knowledge and skills needed to assess and manage the first 10 minutes of adult cardiac arrest patients, including respiratory, AED, stroke and Acute Coronary Syndromes. This is taught using a case-based approach with 10 core ACLS scenarios. This ACLS course also provides detailed instruction on EKG and 12 lead recognition, pharmacology review, and a BLS renewal.
