CHHS >> School of Nursing >> Engagement Thru Simulation
This video project was produced by The Center of Teaching and Faculty Development (CTFD), the Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts (BECA) Department, and School of Nursing at San Francisco State University as part of the MERLOT/ ELIXR project that was funded by a grant from the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE). Student engagement brings the learners into the experience being presented. Students are no longer passive recipients of instructions; they interact with the experience, building it as the situation progresses. In this video case story, Luanne Livermore, BSN, RN, a clinical instructor of pediatrics for the San Francisco State University School of Nursing, tells how she designs simulation scenarios which help her students in the learning process. The students, too, give their perspective on their experience in this five-part video presentation on a pediatric scenario about the treatment of an acute Tetralogy of Fallot episode.
