Nursing Faculty and Alumni Article Highlighted in One of The Top-ranking Breastfeeding Journals

Dr. Therese Doan, current assistant professor and alumnae of the BSN program, reached out School of Nursing alumnae Lily Tsai, to work on a paper on the topic of opioid and lactation. As Lily’s former adviser and first reader, Dr. Doan worked with Lily to expand her Culminating Experience looking at breastfeeding support for women on methadone maintenance program, into a manuscript for the Journal of Human Lactation. They are excited to share that this new paper was highlighted in the editor’s choice of the journal.

Lily graduated from the Entry Level Master’s program in December 2014. Through her placement with Dr. Doan in the perinatal CNS at the San Francisco General Hospital, Lily Tsai was hired right after graduation. Both Lily and Dr. Doan are International Board Certified Lactation Consultants.
