Presentations at the 28th International Nursing Research Congress of STTI in Dublin, Ireland
In July 2017, the 28th International Nursing Research Congress of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (STTI) was held in Dublin, Ireland. The San Francisco State’s School of Nursing was proud to have two faculty members present their work on behalf of the University.
Dr. Fang-yu Chou, associate professor of the School of Nursing, presented her summary of a multivariate regression analysis of illness perception, self-management, and quality of life among ethnic Chinese cancer patients. Dr. Chou has been actively involved in the STTI at the local and national levels, and was the former Chapter President of the Nu Psi Chapter at SF State.
During this event, Angel Johann Solorzano, a nursing alumni and current adjunct faculty of the department, presented his work on “The Feasibility of Developing an Evidence-Based Workplace Violence Simulation for Undergraduate Nursing Students”. Angel is a graduate of two SF State nursing programs, completing his RN-BSN program in fall of 2007, and his MSN in Community and Public Health in May 2014. With over 11 years of experience working as a staff nurse and relief charge nurse in the inpatient psychiatric units at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, Angel has also held the position of Vice President of the school’s Sigma Theta Nu Psi chapter since fall 2015.
