Chinese Hospital Grand Opening Celebration

Thursday, April 21, 2016

It was April 18, 1925, when the first Chinese Hospital opened at 845 Jackson St. in San Francisco. On, April 18, 2016, the brand new, state of the art 88-bed patent tower was opened on the same site as the old hospital. The grand opening event was attended by many well-known dignitaries including Mayor Lee, former Mayor Willie Brown, District 3 Supervisor Aaron Peskin, many of Chinese Hospital’s Board of Trustees, and a large crowd of community well-wishers. Learn about a fascinating look at the hospital’s history.

Chinese Hospital is a strong partner of the SF State School of Nursing and has recently established the Brenda Yee Nursing Scholarship which pays the cost of nursing education for one Cantonese speaking student each year.
