School of Nursing Faculty Advisor Information

Faculty advisors and course instructors serve as the primary resources for academic concerns and guidance as students progress through their respective nursing programs.  Currently enrolled nursing students can identify the name of their advisor by referencing the advisor list previously provided or visit the School of Nursing reception desk to obtain a new list.

Mandatory Advising

School of Nursing advising is intended to support student's academic success, facilitate their time to graduation, and to assist with enrollment management.  Advising is therefore required for all master's and certificate students during the designated mandatory advising period each semester. Students will be notified when the advising period is via their SF State email address.

There may be circumstances which require students to change their advisor. In these instances Change of Advisor form must be completed by the student and approvals must be received from both the current and proposed new advisors.

Undergraduate nursing students can receive General Education (GE) advisement by contacting any of the three offices indicated below. Students should bring a Degree Audit Report (DARS)/Degree Progress Report (DPR) to all advisement sessions.

The SF State Division of Graduate Studies provides support to students from the time of application through graduation. Current students who seek advice about completing degree requirements can contact their assigned nursing faculty advisor or the General Advisor in Grad Stop, ADM Room 250.
